Hey Bostonians and future Boston visitors!
Carrie Bilbo Jewelry is now featured and sold at the trendy Flock Boutique in South End Boston!
“What started as a shared vision between mother and daughter has become one of Boston’s premiere boutiques featuring each season’s freshest looks. Together, Lisa and Danielle Kupsc have introduced many exclusive designers and independent labels to Boston for the first time, and infused the shop—and its selection—with a whimsical air.
Opening their doors in September 2009, the mom/daughter team ventured to meld high-end, classic fashions with a fresh, down-to-earth aesthetic. Setting up shop in Boston’s historic South End district was their first step; then they culled garments from up-and-coming New York fashion houses and hard-to-find California-based brands.
From the bold patterns and flirty silhouettes of Corey Lynn Calter dresses to the West Coast “ethical fashion” label Stewart+Brown—all accented by colorful, hand-crafted necklaces, woven belts and statement heels—Flock’s selection caters to trend-setting mothers and daughters alike. The warm yet sleek interior, with its playful, nature-inspired touches, reflects that accessibility: Garments are draped from vintage cabinets and displayed on rustic tables, beside leafy plants that grow inside bird cages—and above the reach of resident pups, Roscoe and Bo, Danielle’s friendly lab/basset hound dogs. Just a year after opening, Lisa and Danielle have created a boutique that showcases high-end, exclusive clothing in an inviting, inspiring space … and they’ve still got big plans ahead.”

Carrie’s Arachnophobia Brooches were a big hit at this years 2010 SNAG (Society for North American Goldsmiths) Conference!
This year’s annual SNAG conference was held in Houston, Texas the weekend of March 12th. Every year there are several juried gallery exhibitions and shows done around the city where the conference is being held in coordination with the conference. There is also a juried slide show presentation of student work. My Arachnophobia brooches were in this year’s “Presence of Thought” presentation… check out the “Presence of Thought” link below! The spider brooches also made it into the Exhibition in Motion and the No Boundaries exhibition displayed my Masking a Fear Head Piece and very popular Skin Crawling Bracelet! I would say I made a good presence of my own this year at SNAG! To bad I couldn’t attend…. Maybe next year.
Check out the “Presence of Thought” video and photos below… There is tons of amazing student work in the slide show, including two great pieces from fellow Pratt students and friends of mine.

Carrie was named and awarded a 2010 NICHE finalist in the Student Jewelry: Fashion category for her Skin Crawling Bracelet.
She attended an awards ceremony at the Philadelphia Convention Center on Feb. 12th and her finalist piece Skin Crawling Bracelet was displayed at the Convention Center at the Philadelphia Buyers Market that same weekend. Only 70 entries out of nearly 800 submissions were named finalists of this year’s competition. The awards program is sponsored by NICHE magazine, the exclusive trade publication for independent retailers of fine craft. Judging for the student division is based on two main criteria: Technical excellence, both in surface design and form and A distinct quality of unique, original and creative thought.
